How Video Ranking Works
SxyHub's feed algorithm ranks every video using a multi-factor score calculated in real time. The key factors are:
- Quality Score (40%) — Engagement rate: likes, comments, completes vs skips.
- Velocity Score (25%) — How rapidly new watches, likes, and shares are accumulating (trending potential).
- Freshness Score (20%) — How recently the video was uploaded. Fresher content gets a boost that decays over 7 days.
- Personalization Score (10%) — How well the video matches your watch history and category preferences.
- Exploration Score (5%) — A diversity bonus injected to surface new creators and niche content.
Feed Personalization
For logged-in users, SxyHub builds a profile of your interests based on:
- Videos you watched to completion (high signal)
- Videos you liked or saved
- Creators you follow
- Category preferences you set manually in Feed Preferences
- Videos you skipped quickly (negative signal — reduces similar content)
The algorithm learns over time. New accounts start with a general trending feed and personalize after ~20 interactions.
Feed for Anonymous Viewers
If you're not logged in, SxyHub shows a curated feed of platform-wide trending content. Without an account:
- Personalization is not available
- Likes, saves, and follows are not stored
- Sessions are tracked temporarily for session-based recommendations only

How to Improve Your Feed
- Watch videos all the way through — completions are the strongest quality signal.
- Like and save content you enjoy — this trains the algorithm on your preferences.
- Follow creators whose content you consistently enjoy — their new uploads appear first.
- Visit Feed Preferences to manually boost or suppress categories.
- Use Explore to discover content by category and tag, which also teaches the algorithm.
Resetting Your Preferences
If your feed feels stale or inaccurate, you can reset your learned preferences:
- Go to Feed Preferences.
- Click Reset to Defaults.
- Confirm the reset — your watch history signals are cleared and the feed returns to trending content.
